Matte 21 Key Features:
Matte finish with a waxy feel of hand.
Tough and flexible urethane resin formulation.
Seals and protects aniline dyes.
Retains the natural look and softness of the leather.
Recommended for professional-grade refinishing and rejuvenation.
Application Mixing Instructions:
- Dilute the concentrate with distilled water in a 1:3 ratio (1 part concentrate to 3 parts water).
Preparation:
- Inspect the leather, especially for darkened areas from penetrated stains. These may resurface and must be addressed before coating.
Use mechanical techniques like:
- Gentle stretching or deep stretching with a tablespoon.
- Brushing, erasing, or optional Razor-60 shaving to reduce darkening.
Apply the first coat using a lint-free folding towel.
- This serves two purposes:
- Promotes adhesion.
- Lifts residual soiling during application.
Coating Methods:
- Follow up with:
- A foam brush, soft-touch varnishing brush, or airbrush for smoother, professional results.
- Allow to dry between coats. For best results, sand lightly between coats with 1000 to 2000 grit sandpaper to smooth the finish without damaging the grain.
Curing:
- Let the final coat cure overnight for maximum strength and durability.
- Inspect the finish to ensure satisfaction before applying the protector.
Protection:
- After the topcoat is fully cured, apply one of the following non-stick protectors:
- Protector W: Offers a waxy feel and rub-resistant finish.
- Protector W Plus: Same benefits with a classic leather scent.
These final conditioning protectors help reduce scuffing, increase resistance to soiling, and enhance the long-term feel of the waxed finish.
