Fatliquoring is a process in which the original diminishing fatliquor is periodically replenished, unlike the original hide done in the rotation drum in the tannery completely submerse in fatliquor solution, furniture is done non-immersion by bottle spray to saturation. Just like our car engine oil that needs periodic check and top-up, fatliquor (fat and oil) in the leather structure when becomes too dry from the average 14% read with a digital leather moisture meter or an equivalent wood moisture meter will result in stiffness, unnatural creases and wrinkles and will eventually leads to cracks or tears. Direct sunlight or heat source will accelerate the evaporation of the fat and oil. Un-safe cleaning solution will also stiff out the leather when wet and dry again. Fatliquor-5.0 besides maintaining and restoring leather suppleness it contributes to the leather color intensity and improves in water shedding and resist ingress of liquid stain. It is used in conjunction with Hydrator-3.3 as a pre-conditioner. In a holistic system it is used in combination with other system products in specialized kits.
