Product Description

Leather Doctor EffectOil-2.8 is formulated for aniline and nubuck fashion oil-pull-up leathers. This is a pH 2.8 waterbased emulsion blend for rejuvenating diminishing oil pull-up effect loss through usage, aging or cleaning. Oil pull-up effect leather is also known as “crazy horse” as it gives a very drastic distressed contrast as compares to the milder wax effect leather. With a duller luster, oil pull-up leathers are seldom found in indoor upholstery, rather with its better water-resistant effect it is commonly used for outdoor sporting or working purposes.

When the leather is pulled or stretched it lightens up and when the tension is released reverts back its appearance. The reverse response liveliness depends on the percentage of fatliquor and oil effect contents still remaining and may vary from location to location, depending on wear and evaporation from heat source.

The routine standalone application is by spraying and working with a horsehair Brush-1 into the leather structure for an even appearance. Natural slow drying preferred before the item is then return to use. Optional distress effect is created by kneading and massaging to achieve the desired result. Protector-B+ or B is recommended to impart the leather with non-stick rub-resistant protection against soiling and wear.

Restorative pull-up effect conditioning should be holistic that included the recommended sequence of the process as follows:

1 – Removing all foreign soiling contamination by degreasing and appropriate matching specialty restorative cleaning system. 2 – Returning the leather structure back to the original dimension correcting overstretching or unnatural creases and wrinkles with Hydrator-3.3. 3 – Returning the leather to original fatliquor suppleness moisture content up to 14% practice by today's modern tannery standard with Fatliquor-5.0. 4 – Replenishing the oil pull-up effect with EffectOil-2.8 for a fast response reverting back to pre-stretch appearance once the tension is released. 5 – Protects the leather with a non-stick rub-resistant protector with Protector-B+ or B against soiling and wear.

The oil pull-up effect is often mistaken for wax pull-up, although there is also oil/wax pull-up as well. When applied to wax pull-up leathers it may dissolve the wax effect in some cases. Thus positive leather finishes identification is essential prior to oil effect application. Email pictures to roger@LeatherDoctor.com to help you positively identify them.

Shipping size options are available in Fill and Con. Fill is a concentration ratio in the bottle to be cut/mix and fills with distilled water prior to use to save on shipping. The Con is concentration to be cut/mix with distilled water at a ratio of 1: 10 prior to use. Ratio mix with distilled water may be adjusted according to need from 1: 7, 1: 5. 1: 3, 1: 1 or concentrated to suit the desired result.

Instruction for Standalone Application:

1. Warm-up and shake well.

2. Spray spread and saturate with horsehair Brush-1 evenly producing a darkening effect.

3. Allow an 8hours minimum natural drying time.

4. Create a sharp pull-up effect by kneading, flexing or creasing it.

5. Protector-B+ or B always follows after EffectOil-2.8 to impart a buttery-feel non-stick rub-resistant protection.
