Product Overview

Louis Vuitton Vachetta Leather Care Kit V7 Plus by Leather Doctor is for cleaning, rinsing, hydrating, softening, and protecting the Vachetta and canvas LV bag.

Louis Vuitton Vachetta Leather Care Kit V7 Plus by Leather Doctor is formulated and design for the care of Louis Vuitton (LV) bags from preventive care, routine care, periodic care to restorative care. It is a combination problem solving kit for the monogram canvass, lining and the pH sensitive leather that is an upgrade from Kit V7 with an addition of VachettaPro-1.2. Additional products relevant to existing problem as shown from the leather problem-solving guide can be purchased individually. VachettaPro-1.2 (pH value 1.2) is a very strong low water-based pH balancing cleaner. Formulated for restoration cleaning and rectifying the common blotchy browning effect derive from sweat, alkaline stain and cleaning product especially on naked unfinished vegetable-tanned leathers popularly known Vachetta. It is particularly effective in emulsifying general soiling in a gentle penetrating, lubricating and suspending reaction to be towel extracted. Penetrated darkening body contact oil and grease stains are highly recommended to be pre-removed with Degreaser-2.2 in conjunction with white towel extraction if any. VachettaPro-1.2 continues clean over the grease stain and extends to the entire panel or section without leaving a dry edge. It is used in conjunction with Acidifier-2.0 as rinse, and continues with Hydrator-3.3 and Fatliquor-5.0 as the last wet process. It is important to note that the above wet process is kept at a minimum 25% moisture level in each process in transition and only allows for a complete dry after Fatliquor-5.0. Otherwise with insufficient (less than 7%) fatliquor content will easily accelerate existing cracks when dry. Fatliquor (fat and oil) content when dry at optimum level should be up to 14% when measure with a leather moisture meter or an equivalent wood moisture meter. A further overall bleaching with Vachetta-2.8 reduction-oxidation (redox) reaction may follow for tarnish stains and the undesired sun tanning effect to a lighter biscuit color appearance. Tips: Sequence of Wet-Processes for Restorative Cleaning (See the guide for other levels of soiling sequence of steps). Typically, a wet process is a continuous process where the leather is constantly keeps at the lowest moisture level about 25%. This minimum moisture level is important not allowing the leather to dry before the final fatliquoring process with Fatliquor-5.0 otherwise existing cracks will accelerate, accentuated or magnified. Optimum fatliquor (fat and oil) moisture level should reach 14% when dry to avoid the ill effect of drying without sufficient fatliquor. Fast drying will stiffen the leather and slow natural drying will produce a softer leather. Optional sequence of Process: (skip 1, 2 or 3 where it does not apply; step 4, 5 and 6 is mandatory; 7, 8 and 9 are optional).

7 - Any surface fatliquor residue may be further rinse with Hydrator-3.3 to an even appearance.

The leather is left to a natural slow drying process.

8 - Any undesirable tannin and tarnish stains or sun-tanning effect may be reduced to a lighter biscuit-color appearance by the bleaching effect of Vachetta-2.8 reduction-oxidation (redox) reaction.

9 - Protector-D protects the naked leather against soiling for easier cleaning and rectifying scuffs by sealing and concealing it while retaining its natural transpiration.

Email Comments by G. D. on 2-Feb-2019: I want to tell you how unbelievably grateful I am for your products. They are just amazing and there is absolutely nothing else like them.  I’m able to restore vintage Louis Vuitton bags to the point where before and after pictures of the leather are hard to believe.  So a very big thank you!!!
