Zebra - Cowhide Hair-on-Hide Recliners

Hair-on-Hide upholstery is leather as the suede underside with the natural hair of animal use on.  It retains the original coloring of the animal.  However, cowhides can be dyed to resemble skins such as tigers or zebra, but dyeing is usually reserved for the lower quality cowhides.  The best quality hides are usually presented in their natural colors, based on the breed of the bovine.  Hair breakage is often due to a lack of conditioning to reduce friction rubs.  Hair loss is the diminishing of the original fatliquor (fat and oil).  And when it gets too dry of fatliquor the tensile strength weakens and easily rips or tears.
